BARE-ISH 101

Bare-ish products are meant to give you amazing lift and coverage, but like everything in life they may not be for everybody. It is very important that you use our tape products safely as we all have different skin types that react differently.

Below are some guidelines we need you to keep in mind before you proceed to try or use our product.

  • Do not use our tape on bruised, cut, injured skin or skin with open wounds.
  • Do not keep the tape on for longer than 8 hours, prolonged use can cause irritation and discomfort when removing. Remember to use an oil or lotion when removing for comfort.
  • Use tape with extra caution when in hot environments or under prolonged sun exposure, as the adhesive on the tape can melt to your skin. (Sorry lovies, no sunbathing with tape on!)
  • Bare-ish tape products are not for daily use, please allow your skin 48 hours - 72 hours between uses.

APPLICATION 101

Here are some recommended steps for maximum results:

  • Do a patch test on your skin - Cut a small piece of tape and apply a test patch to your boob/chest for at least 4 hours to ensure your skin does not react. Remember your breast skin is different from the rest of your skin, if any irritation occurs during or after patch testing immediately discontinue use. This product is not recommended for sensitive skin or skin prone to allergies.
  • Apply to clean and dry skin - This is super important! Skin that is not clean and dry will be oily and can prevent the adhesive from sticking properly. Please make sure your skin is free of products such as lotions, oils, powders, concealers, or any makeup products, perfumes, or deodorants, sweat, sunblock to name a few.
  • Measure and cut - Cut a strip of boob tape that can reach from the base of your breasts up to the shoulder or collar bone. You will need 2-3 strips per boob and remember larger boobs will need more tape to support the heavier load! Slowly peeling the liner off the tape and making sure it does not touch itself or your hands too much. Remember this is a one-time use product once the tape has touched something it will not re-stick.
  • Lift and tape - Use one hand to lift your breast to your desired height and with your other hand, create an ‘anchor’ by applying the breast tape where desired, based on the style you are looking to achieve. Gently but firmly slide your hand over the tape, pull the tape in the required direction and stick it in place. Do not apply too much tension on the tape when pulling it into place as too much tension on the tape can cause the tape to pull too much on the skin causing irritation. Smoothen any wrinkles and remember once has touched the skin it will not re-stick.
  • Overstretching tape - Whilst the tape is made to stretch with the body and lift, we do not recommend over stretching the products, over stretching and pulling too tight can cause skin friction which can lead to blisters and irritation. If you experience grazes or irritation at the top end of where the tape is applied this is a sign of friction and over stretching of the tape, please remove immediately and redo the placement again.
  • Trim – Carefully trim any excess tape based on your selected style, make sure not to lift off the tape too much as you will not be able to re-stick it to your skin!

Important Note – We highly recommend that you use the BARE-ISH disposable or re-usable nipple covers prior to applying our tata tape to protect your nipples from direct contact with the tape adhesive, this will as well make the tape removal process easier and smoother.

REMOVAL 101

  • You can remove the tape by gently peeling it off from your skin or by using our highly recommended method of rubbing coconut oil or baby oil into the tape until it is fully saturated (especially if you have sensitive skin). Let the tape soak in the oil for 5 – 10 minutes. This will help breakdown and loosen the adhesive and allow the tape to peel off seamlessly. Using oil is also a great way to remove any adhesive that may be left on the skin and to moisturize your skin.
  • Rub the edges of the tape and slowly pull up a small corner to start the removal process.
  • Brace your boob, just above the corner of the tape you lifted. Use the other hand to pull the tape against itself.
  • Remove the tape slowly, rubbing more oil under the tape if needed. Do not rip the tape off as this can cause irritation or injury.

Safety Note - Please read our safety guidelines before using our products. Our products are made with very strong medical grade acrylic adhesive which provides a strong hold but must be used with care. Please read all information above and be fully aware of all and any risks to avoid skin irritation or injury and follow the BARE-ISH guidelines.
